'ClonmanyResidents' Origins

This document summarises how the ‘ClonmanyResidents’ online presence evolved as a result of a planning application in March 2024 from the charity, Clonmany Enterprise Development Ltd by Guarantee (CEDLtd) to construct public toilets in the Parochial Field, submitted without any meaningful and requested consultation with the local community.
A planning objection to the development which included highlighting of flooding and environmental concerns acted as a catalyst, which subsequently led to multiple people from the village and parish privately raising additional issues and concerns regarding the management and operation of the Clonmany Festival. As a direct result of multiple approaches, interactions and issues raised, the domain name http://www.ClonmanyResidents.com was registered during the 2024 Clonmany Festival.
The ongoing lack of meaningful engagement from CEDLtd, led to the ‘ClonmanyResidents’ social media presence with the Clonmany Festival - Clonmany Village Residents Meeting Requests post on Facebook on the 11th Feb 2006.
